Ice on the bird feeder was there for most of the day today.
The poor birds had to eat frozen food this morning. Not only was the food cold, the atmosphere was none too pleasant. I have to say, howeveer, the view from my house was exquisite. Limbs of the big white pine were bowed with ice, and all the shrubbery was crystal coated.

I went out for lunch with mu husband. Despite all the closings, traffic seemed to be moving along as usual by 1 p.m. The ricking chairs at Cracker Barrel were empty. Apparently no one wanted a great view of the ice covered landscape plants and wet parking lot. The temperature was 35 degrees, but the ice was barely dripping.

Here is West Michigan, we'be been bombarded with the full gamut of winter weather in the last few weeks. What's ahead? More winter, of course. Whether you deal with it by hunkering down and staying inside, or diving in to snow sports and  competition, or traveling to fun spots somewhere away from it all, or simply carrying on with your day to day routine as much as possible, you can rejoice in this fact: winter will end. Spring will come, and in a few short weeks, we can all start complaining about the heat.

We've certainly been hit by winter lately. It was beautiful today though. I went out for a drive on my lunch break just to take a few photos.
I'm ready for Spring!
